Ms. Yana is the lead CDC (Special Ed) teacher at ILE, where my son, Owen, is in his last year. Ms. Yana has the kindest, sweetest spirit and calls all of her students her “friends”. She takes whatever time necessary to get to know each and every one of her students, how they are special and what motivates each one. She cares deeply and ultimately realizes that all of her students are special and beautiful in his/her own way and allows each one to learn and grow to the fullest under the guidance of her team. I have seen this year my son feel empowered because of the ways he was made special through Ms. Yana and her team’s dedication and focus on seeing each child as uniquely himself/herself. I also feel the need to recognize the rest of the CDC team at ILE for how amazing they each are, especially Ms. Morgan. All teachers should he valued and recognized fit their contribution to the younger generations. Though I am biased, I would love to see Ms. Yana, Ms. Morgan and the CDC program at ILE receive this special recognition and appreciation. This grant would provide so much financial growth for the extra things needed for and in a CDC classroom, those tools not usually needed in a regular classroom. I would LOVE Ms. Yana, Ms. Morgan and their team to receive this award! And lastly, thank you so very much to Ponce Law for taking the time to create and give this award. There is no doubt that each teacher nominated is changing the future. From one thankful momma’s heart, I truly appreciate your consideration of the CDC program at Indian Lake Elementary!
