Nashville Motorcycle Accident Claims Young Man’s Life

August 26, 2013

Summer is in full swing in Tennessee, and the volume of motorcycles operating on highways in the state has peaked. The Nashville Motorcycle Accident Lawyers with Michael D. Ponce & Associates explain the large number of bikes on the road can lead to an increase in the number of motorcycle accidents.

The serious risks posed by motorcycle accidents were underscored by a fatal crash in Tipton County last week. Reports indicate the collision happened last Monday, along Beaver Road in Munford, Tennessee.

A story from WMCTV 5 News explains the 22-year-old victim was riding along the road when he was struck by an SUV backing out of a driveway. The impact caused the young man to be ejected from his bike and he died a short time later. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

A motorcycle safety study, called The Hurt Report, found a large portion of motorcycle accidents are caused by motorists who fail to yield to oncoming bikes. A common cause of these accidents is that motorists simply fail to see a motorcyclist coming.

Michael D. Ponce & Associates’ team of Nashville Personal Injury Lawyers recognize how difficult the loss of a loved one to a motorcycle accident can be, and they would like to send their sympathies to the family of the victim.
