Pedestrian Collision Claims the Life of Nashville High School Student

December 20, 2013

According to a story published by The Tennessean, a 17-year-old student high school student was killed in a pedestrian accident near Hume-Fogg High School yesterday at approximately 1 p.m. at the corner of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Church Street. As the victim attempted to cross the street on her way to school, a commercial truck delivering electrical equipment to a local business failed to yield to the right-of-way during a right turn and struck the girl.

The victim was trapped beneath the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. The 45-year-old truck driver told law enforcement he did not see the girl crossing the street as he made the turn.

The accident remains under investigation, and the district attorney has yet to determine if the truck’s driver will face charges in connection with the crash.
